Hello FarmLogs followers! My name is Carly Cummings and I am the Events + Merchandise Manager for FarmHer, Inc. FarmHer was founded in 2013 to change the image of agriculture - including women in that image through photographs and stories. It quickly became clear that women in agriculture not only appreciated FarmHer, but they needed it. And they asked for more. Today, FarmHer has grown into much more than images that are changing the way people perceive a farmer, but also into a national television show, online community and targeted events, designed just for women in agriculture.
A conference for women who Farm
If you are like me, you love any excuse to get together with your fellow women in agriculture. Whether it be at a trade show, a conference, or maybe just for a quick drink after work, any excuse is a good excuse!
FarmHer is excited to bring you another one of those excuses!
We are proud to present I am FarmHer, an all-ages event for women in agriculture. After we received many requests from women all across the country for an event like this, we decided it was time to give you what you were asking for.
Over the past few months, we have been planning this event to bring together women from all walks of life who share a love for agriculture and a desire to collaboratively bring light to how their lifestyles are impacting the world around them. Attendees will include: producHers, farmHers, ranchHers, FarmLogHers, and agribusiness professionals alike.
While enjoying the company of your fellow FarmHers, you will be immersed in up-to-the minute information and education on topics vital to women operating within the ag industry. Specific topics, presented by industry leaders, will educate you on how to leave or take over your family’s farming legacy, how to feel comfortable and confident working in the agriculture industry as a woman, and why understanding our current political reality is important to all of us in the industry. A line up of workshops will provide hands-on experience and multiple networking opportunities will give you ample time to connect with each other.
Where: Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel, West Des Moines, IA 50266
When: Monday, June 26 - Wednesday, June 28
